EU Customers
HOW CAN I PLACE AN ORDER?
All customers living in the EU can order project bags and accessories through my Etsy store.
I DON’T SEE THE ITEMS I WANT TO ORDER ON ETSY.
Please email alex@alexcollinsdesigns.com letting me know what you would like to order and I will set up a listing on Etsy for you.
WHAT CHANGED ON 1ST JULY?
If you live in the EU, VAT is to be paid at your countries standard rate on all orders when you checkout.
WHY DO I HAVE TO SHOP ON ETSY?
Etsy make it simple for small businesses like mine to comply with the new EU VAT rules by collecting and paying the EU VAT on my behalf.
HOW WILL DELIVERY FROM UK TO EU BE AFFECTED?
As taxes will now be paid when checking out, parcels from the UK to the EU will be free to travel more quickly through customs and there will be no more surprise handling fees or taxes to pay before receiving your package.
I’M A NEWSLETTER SUBSCRIBER, CAN I STILL PRE-ORDER?
Yes! I’d love for you to take advantage of the early access to collections. Please email alex@alexcollinsdesigns.com letting me know what you would like to order and I will set up a custom listing on Etsy for you.
Shipping
DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?
Yes! I love seeing my bags going to new homes all over the world.
WHEN WILL MY ORDER SHIP?
I aim to ship all orders in 1-2 days but this can be longer during the busy Holiday season.
WILL MY ORDER ARRIVE BEFORE CHRISTMAS?
Several Royal Mail strikes are planned throughout December so please be patient if shipping and delivery takes a little longer than normal and place your orders early.
Throughout December I will be adding free tracking to all orders so you can track your purchase for added peace of mind.
Last shipping dates for Christmas Delivery *
Fri 9th - USA & Canada
Mon 19th - UK
* These dates give you the best chance of receiving your order before Christmas but it’s not a guarantee.
HOW MUCH IS SHIPPING?
Standard delivery is £3 to the UK, £5 to Europe and £7 to the rest of the world.
HOW LONG WILL MY ORDER TAKE TO ARRIVE?
Royal Mail aims to deliver 1st class UK mail the next day excluding Sundays. Estimated delivery to countries outside the UK is 7 working days.
Please know that these are estimates and international delivery can take longer, especially during the busy holiday season.
DOES STANDARD DELIVERY INCLUDE TRACKING?
No.
If you would like your order to have tracking just add your address at checkout to see all the shipping options available to you. Charges will be calculated depending on the size and weight of your order and where you are in the world.
WHAT ABOUT CUSTOMS FEES?
You are responsible for paying all customs fees, taxes or receiving fees (if any) incurred in your country.
HOW CAN I MAKE A CHANGE TO MY ORDER OR SHIPPING ADDRESS?
Please email alex@alexcollinsdesigns.com as soon as possible. Once an order has been shipped I can no longer make changes.

Ethics
I feel a responsibility to make beautiful, functional pieces that have as little impact on our plant as I can which is reflected in the materials and supplies I choose.
This means I prefer to source packing supplies that are made from recycled materials that can be reused or recycled again and my fabrics are supplied by a small family run company here in the UK that sell GOTS certified organic cotton produced in India and Turkey.
Not only do they check the validity of the certificates but they also return some of their profits to help the weavers they work with. Isn't that fantastic! I feel good about supporting their business and feel great about using these fabrics to make lovely things for you.
I chose to use organic cottons as they are grown without the use of harmful pesticides (hooray!) using pheromone traps, crop rotation, hand picking of bugs and natural repellents instead.
The fabrics are dyed with low impact dyes which are also GOTS approved and non-toxic.
I use not toxic solvent-free water-based ink to print with and even the thread I use to stitch and the cotton tape on the zips is organic cotton.
